About Keepsake

We built Keepsake so families can hold on to the everyday stories

Keepsake began with a simple question - how do we capture the little moments that matter? We wanted a quiet space where conversations could live, revisited any time a memory needs the warmth of a familiar voice.

The Beginning

Life is fleeting.

"Let’s assume your parents are in their mid-60s, and let’s assume you see them four times a year, such as at birthdays, during the holiday season, or at special events like weddings. Working on an average life expectancy of around 80 years, that means you will only see your parents between 50 and 60 more times."

When I read the lines above from an article, I was caught off-guard. Life gets busy with all the adult responsibilities but as my parents and grandparents started aging, I couldn't help but get this poignant feeling of my time with them slipping away.

So I started thinking of what I can do and how to cope. The only two things I found was to spend more meaningful time with them and getting to know them a little bit better. The issue was that most of our conversations would just live as memories, but even memories aren't forever. After trying several options, none really served my needs and hence Keepsake was born.

Our Philosophy

What guides us

Simple enough for everyone

Whether you're eight or eighty, recording a memory should be as easy as having a conversation. Large buttons, voice-first design, zero learning curve.

Your stories belong to you

Your family's memories are kept private and secure. Only the people you invite can see them. They're yours to cherish and protect.

The best time is now

A single voice note captured today is worth more than a detailed memoir you never get around to writing. Start small, start now.

"Dad was diagnosed with early-stage dementia. We started Keepsake immediately. For 18 months, we captured everything - his childhood in Ireland, meeting mom, building his business.

Now my kids can hear their grandfather explain why he came to America, in his own voice, with his laugh, his pauses, his tears."
