These 40 fun questions work for any age: favorite foods, imaginary choices, a few about you, and ten for kids to ask parents and grandparents. Nothing here needs a confession, so they suit a family dinner as well as a party.
Where fun questions work best
Try them on a long drive, while cooking together or as a quick round at the table. Ask one, let everyone answer, and follow the answer that gets the biggest reaction. “Wait, why?” usually gets a better story than moving on to the next question.
With young children, keep to one question at a time and let them ask some too. The last group is written for them: a child asking a grandparent what toy they wanted most often gets a story nobody has heard before. If the answer turns into a longer memory, our questions for grandparents can take it further.
